Oppo Watch with a curved screen, 3D glass revealed. Here’s a glimpse of this new device and its features.
Oppo announced its first smartwatch, the Oppo Watch at the launch event, on March 6th. Now, just ahead of launch, key features of the upcoming smartwatch have been revealed. The Oppo Watch will come with a curved display with 3D glass, two physical buttons on the side, and interchangeable straps.
We could also see that the image reveals that the smartwatch will come with a voice call function. This also means that the smartwatch will support e-SIM support as well.
There’s also a hunch that this will be Oppo’s own smartwatch operating system – something possible given the odd font – but whether that would be attractive enough to the wider public remains to be seen. While we may have to hear out from the customer’s feedback to really know if they have hit the mark.
The Oppo official launch showed us our first official looks at the Oppo Watch – which matches the rumors we’ve seen about the device. There have been many leaked or rumored images of the watch which have been coming in the past few weeks. This tweet official puts a stop to all those fake or rumored images.
From the angles shown, the watch appears to have sides that curve down much like the ‘waterfall edges’ in the Oppo Find X and, presumably, the Oppo Find X2.
There are no firm details as to how go it works. From what we know little from the image is that it’s a moodily-lit device, which has a square design and a leather strap.
Back to the design, the image reveals that Oppo Watch will come with a curved screen design which gives it a sporty look. The two buttons are located on the right side, which will be used for navigation. The design of the smartwatch also looks similar to that of Apple Watch. While it may not seem to be a direct copy of Apple’s smartwatch, but Oppo is trying to stand out in the smartwatch world. Furthermore, we will get to know more about its features in the upcoming smartwatch during the launch event.
Brian Shen, president of global marketing at Oppo, recently tweeted to say the curved screen and ‘3D glass’ of the watch will be “a game changer”.
There’s also an interesting update on the company’s next wave of products. They are working on two new truly wireless earbuds that was spotted in a leaked patent. The images available through the patent shows that while one model will have an Apple AirPods-like design, the other one will resemble the Samsung Galaxy Buds+. Both of the earbuds models are also expected to come with noise cancellation which makes it better in terms of features.
There might not be many people surfing the web for news about Oppo’s upcoming smartwatch, but it is exciting to see what they have planned for the world.
