Five people, including an infant, were seared to death while 27 more were injured on Tuesday night when a bus caught fire on National Highway 4 (NH4) in Hiriyur near Karnataka’s Chitradurga district.
As per latest information, all those who were injured have been shifted to the district government hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Reports said that the bus was carrying 32 passengers while travelling from Vijayapura to Bengaluru when it caught fire on the NH4 due to a hitch in the engine.
The police have already begun conducting an investigation into the incident.
