Bishnupur (Manipur): Farmers in Toubul village of Bishnupur district in Manipur faced huge losses as they are unable to send their produce to the market due to the spread of coronavirus.
Speaking to ANI, the village head shared that the crops were rotten because of the prolonged lockdown due to the spread of the deadly virus “corona”, so we demanded compensation from the government.
He furtherly said that farmers here are unable to sell their produce. Customers aren’t even coming to the market; everyone is conscious about the social-distancing. I urge the government to give compensation for the damaged stock.
The saddest part is that Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh had announced on Sunday that the lockdown in the state has been extended till June 30.
