Kullu (Himachal Pradesh): Gaurav Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP), said on Wednesday that Himachal Pradesh has destroyed around 7,500 poppy plants illegally cultivated in Kutla jungle of Kullu district.
Poppy is a flowering plant, which can be often grown for their attractive colourful flowers.
Police found that around 7,500 poppy flowers were grown illegally in the jungle.
According to the police, a case has been registered in the matter under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
While addressing the media, Singh told that around 7,500 poppy plants were recovered in Kutla Jungle. The land is yet to be demarcated. All plants have been destroyed after taking samples.
