The Government on Monday said there is no plan to extend the lockdown. The Press Information Bureau Chief tweeted saying Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Guba said media reports are claiming that Government has plans to extend, those reports are fake and baseless. He clarified it clearly.
The Union Health Ministry confirmed 107 new patients and eight more deaths on Sunday. The number of Covid-19 cases recorded in India crossed 1,000. The ministry also announced plans to identify “emerging hotspots” of the outbreak in the country.
The Ministry furtherly said the cumulative count of coronavirus patients in the country since local transmission of the virus began in early March rose to 1,024 at 7.30pm on Sunday from 917 on Saturday. Ninety-five patients have recovered and been discharged and 27 have died.
Precisely, Maharashtra and Kerala account for more than 180 patients each, while Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh have more than 50 patients each.
