Mumbai: “Lalbaugcha Raja”, the biggest festival of Mumbai’s 11-day Ganesh festival, will be missed this year. The festival organizers decided to cancel it due to the pandemic.
This is the first time in 84-year history, the festival committee is cancelling it.
Sudhir Salvi, secretary of the Lalbagh Ganesh Mandal, said “This year we will not be keeping any idol as people will otherwise throng to see it”.
In addition to this, the organizers said they will instead arrange a blood donation and plasma therapy camp for the duration of the festival.
