Pune (Maharashtra): A man was allegedly beaten to death by 12 passengers in train, following an argument over the seat in Mumbai-Latur-Bidar Express on Thursday.
The victim, Sagar Markad, his wife, Jyoti, and his daughter, who is a toddler, boarded the general compartment in the early hours of Thursday between Pune and Daund railway stations, the police said.
Markad requested a copassenger to move a bit and allow his wife to sit in a seat since she has a toddler , but the woman started abusing the Markad and started to fight with him and the heated argument ends up with beating Markad. There were 12 passengers, including six women thrashed, kicked the victim, Markad, the police added.
Followed by this, Markad family tried to stop the attack, but they didn’t relent and continued their brutal attack on Markad.
At Daund station, the Railway Police rushed and brought him to the hospital near by, where he was declared brought dead by doctors.
A case under section 302 of the IPC has been registered and the accused have been arrested.
