Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday tested positive for COVID-19. This news comes in six days after he had attended a meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Shekhawat was later found infected with the virus as well.
Khattar tweeted “I was tested for novel coronavirus today. My test report has returned positive,” Khattar tweeted.
He appealed to his colleagues and associates “who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately”. He was tested negative for Coronavirus earlier on Thursday, on the second consecutive day after he had attended the meeting with Shekhawat.
Haryana assembly speaker Gian Chand Gupta and two other BJP MLAs had tested positive for Coronavirus today. Gupta represents the Panchkula seat. Goel and Kumar are legislators from Ambala City and Indri, respectively in the monsoon session, which is due in two days. Six assembly staffs have also tested positive for the disease.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij, told PTI, “The assembly speaker and MLAs Aseem Goel and Ram Kumar have tested positive for coronavirus,”.
