Madhya Pradesh: Election Commission issues notice to Kamal Nath
The by-election is being held for the Dabra Assembly constituency in the Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. Imarti Devi is contesting from BJP in this constituency.
Speaking at an election campaign meeting, senior Congress leader and former chief minister Kamal Nath compared Imarti Devi to a sex worker. Following this, various parties have strongly condemned Kamal Nath. A complaint has been lodged with the Election Commission on behalf of the BJP.
In this context, the Election Commission has sent a notice to former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath for slandering Imarti Devi. The Election Commission has ordered to respond within two days regarding the slander of the female candidate.
Earlier, Kamal Nath had questioned why he should apologize when he was not trying to insult anyone. At the same time, I personally did not like the words spoken by Kamal Nath despite being a party member. Rahul Gandhi had said that I would not support this whoever it was.
