New Delhi: The Chief Justice of India said on March 23 that because of the health hazard of coronavirus the apex court may start to listen to cases through video conferencing.
Prime Minister Modi announced 21 days of lockdown in India. The count of coronavirus has increased to 519, including 10 deaths. Experts said that it is a gamble to control the spread of the virus.
In this scenario, the Supreme Court has announced that lawyers’ chamber and other functions in the court will be closed. The top court also restricted its functioning and urges all the cases. Supreme Court bar associations and Supreme Court advocates on Record association have passed urged Chief Justice of India to halt the function of the top court.
