Cops recovered a suicide note of Ashwani Kumar which revealed that he ended his life due to disease and disability.
The Suicide note of Ashwani Kumar (69), Ex-CBI Director and Former Governor of Manipur and Nagaland, who was found hanging at his Shimla residence, reveals that he ended his life due to disease and disability.
While speaking to media, Sanju Kundu, Director General of Police (DGP) said, “ We found a suicide note in which he wrote that he is ending his life due to disease and disability, of his own free will. He said his soul embarking on a new journey and everyone needed to be happy, and that there should be no rituals or ceremonies”
“ He used to meditate in the attic around 7:00 PM every day, with all doors open. Today, his son and his daughter-in-law found all the doors of the attic were locked. They broke open and found Ashwini Kumar hanging from a rope there.
They cut the rope to bring him down. The Forensic Science Lab Team has collected the evidence and examined the scene. The police are recording the statement of witnesses including the family members” ,DGP said. He added that the family has nullified the possibility of foul play.
The late Ex CBI Director was in service in both the Central Government and the Himachal Pradesh Government for more than 37 years. In 2008, he was appointed CBI Director. He was sworn-in as the Governor General of Nagaland on March 21st 2013 to Governor of Manipur on July 29th 2013.
The deceased Kumar’s body would be handed-over to the family after conducting post-mortem.
