Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) : A 53-year-old visually impaired woman was allegedly raped by an unidentified accused inside her home, on broad daylight in Shahpura Bhopal city on Friday, police said.
During the incident, the woman, who is a bank officer, was at home alone as her husband and family were stranded in Rajasthan because of the COVID-19 lockdown.
According to the victim’s ordeal, she was sleeping in her house when suddenly, an unknown man entered her room and raped her.
Police rushed to the spot and got into an investigation and they currently have no clue about the accused.
While addressing the media, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sanjay Sahu said “we investigated the site and inspected the entire scene of the crime. The survivor has been sent for medical examination.”
A case has been registered against the unidentified accused under sections 376 and 377 of the Indian Penal Code at Shahpura Police Station.
