New Delhi [India]: Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Monday that 746 out of the 1,154 cases of coronavirus in the national capital are from Nizamuddin’s Markaz district, which emerged as a COVID-19 hotspot after hundreds of people attending last month’s Tablighi Jamaat event tested positive for the virus.
While addressing the media, Satyendar Jain said that 746 patients from Markaz and 408 patients from Delhi.
There are totally 1,102 COVID-19 positive patients in hospitals including six patients in Ventilator Support and 50 patients in ICU.
He furtherly said that the procedure followed is that the area will be declared as a hotspot area if more than three cases are identified in a locality. We seal the area and sanitize it. All the Residents in that area and its surroundings are screened. Now, we have started random testing. We are waiting for the rapid test kit.
He added saying that critical services in 43 containment zones in Delhi would be provided.
Extending his words, he said important facilities are allowed in sealed areas. Scanning is performed in hotspot areas. Currently, Delhi has 43 containment zones.
He also said the government is increasing the ability to cure patients suffering from coronavirus.
The minister told about the collection of 180 random samples from Dilshad Garden, a COVID-19 hotspot in the national capital.
“Delhi has only received 13,500 kits from the central government so far,” He said.
